Albany Camera House raise funds for a good cause

Over the WA Day long weekend Albany Camera House set up camp at the Albany Classic.

Along with informing the classic car enthusiasts about how to capture their precious vehicles in the best possible light with the best possible equipment, Albany Camera House have raised $410 for the Albany Community Hospice.

The Albany Community Hospice is a non-denominational, not-for-profit organisation providing palliative care to people with life-limiting illnesses within the Lower Great Southern area of Western Australia. The services offered by the Albany Community Hospice are offered free of charge to their patients and therefore relies on the hard work of valued volunteers as well as fundraising efforts and donations from the community.

Albany Camera House ran a silent auction featuring beautifully framed canvas prints of some stunning vintage car photography taken by local artists which drew a lot of attention at the event.

Albany Camera House also raffled off a 25 minute professional studio photography session valued at $89 including 30 edited images on a DVD and 7 high quality prints.

The raffle and auction were a great success and Albany Camera House were proud to hand over $410 to the Hospice to help them continue the great work they do for the community.

The Albany Classic is a two-day annual motoring event that runs through the main streets of Albany in WA’s south west. The event, which was established in 1939, showcases the history of motor sport featuring a variety of classic sporting vehicles from vintage wire-wheels all the way through to muscle cars. This year, the Albany Classic was attended by approximately 15,000 enthusiasts – a record for the event.

The Albany Camera House stall proved to be extremely popular with the event goers with many car photographers stopping for some quality accessories including lens filters, monopods and memory cards. It was also a must stop shop for race car drivers keen to purchase GoPro accessories to film their race from their own vantage point. The stall offered a print order kiosk for photos from the day and free charging docks to get punters back to their picture taking before the day was through.
